ORIGINAL EDITION and unique edition of this very beautiful book designed and printed by François-Louis SCHMIED, and illustrated and decorated by himself with 32 compositions engraved on wood and printed in colors, most of them with gold and silver highlights: first cover plate, title, 6 full page and 24 headings, letters and vignettes. The book, the model of which was exhibited at Galerie Petit in December 1925, was completed for printing on 31 October 1930.
LIMITED EDITED to 177 numbered copies on Japanese paper, signed by the artist. This one is one of 20 copies of collaborators.
Le Paradis Musulman, the third collaboration between Schmied and Dr. Mardrus, a scholar famous for his translation of The Thousand and One Nights, can be considered as one of the most beautiful works made by Schmied, who has also added the talent of the lacquerer Jean Dunand.
