Leather-edged slipcase. Bound in full morocco blue leatherette. Spine with 5 nerves and date on the heel. All edges gilt. Cuts and threaded caps. Frame on the inside edge decorated with an ochre morocco listel, alternating green pastilles and golden dots, gilded iron in the corners, double framing of gilded fillets. Silver silk guards decorated with grey and white motifs. Double guard of marbled paper. Original paper covers and spine bound in. Binding signed Charles Lanoë. Perfect interior.
Limited edition to 425 copies, 25 of which are non-commercial. This one of the 35 printed on China with each illustration in several states, up to 6 for some of them (and not only 2 as announced in the justification), as well as an ORIGINAL watercolour signed G. Balande, a lead pencil drawing of La Danse and an autograph letter signed by the illustrator: "I am very happy that you have a copy on China of The Servant Mistress I illustrated, which will be the only one in this genre...".
