Translation by L.-J. Alary.

French translation of a poem in XXVI songs in which animals, not content to speak, try to organize their own society. Following the example of authors such as La Fontaine, the Italian Casti sought to make the satire of his time, the faults of animals serving to underline human shortcomings. And there was no shortage of shortcomings in the political camps at the beginning of the 19th century.

Very good condition.
