Half calf spine binding with wine corners. Frontispiece in black. This beautiful little atlas includes 69 world maps on double pages enhanced in period colors on laid paper. Titles in ornamented cartridges. It is composed of a double hemisphere, a general map of Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas with the representation of the island of California, then maps by country: Spain and Portugal, France, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Prussia, Italy, Austria .

Johann Georg SCHREIBER (1679-1750), the first cartographer in Saxony was born in 1676 and lived in Leipzig. This atlas was probably created to show the different changes in the borders of the European powers following the peace of Aachen in 1748.
