Period full calf binding. Nervous spine. Skillful restorations to the headdresses. The atlas contains 94 pages, 87 of which are colourful map sheets from the time of all continents (America, Africa, Asia, Europe). Small worm galleries in the margins.
Maps by Pierre Du Val (1619-1683) are very rare. He is the nephew of Nicolas Sanson, King Louis XIV's cartographer.
