Georges Lepape (1887-1971) exhibited for the first time at the Salon d'Automne in 1910. On this occasion he met Paul Poiret, then in search of a new illustrator, capable, like Paul Iribe with Les Robes de Paul Poiret racontées par Paul Iribe en 1908, of producing a luxurious album presenting his collections. In 1911, he published Les Choses de Paul Poiret... seen by Georges Lepape. Lepape then became an essential illustrator, recognized by the press. Between 1912 and 1925, he collaborated, with his stencil plates, on all issues of the[nbsp]Gazette du Bon Ton. Other newspapers solicited him, such as[nbsp]Femina, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar, L'Illustration... The American publisher Condé Nast invited him to New York and offered him to publish his illustrations in[nbsp]Vogue, a real turning point in his career. Precursor of the clear line, he was influenced by orientalism, Persian miniatures and Russian ballets.

Very attractive.
