Unique copy enriched in the text of 79 RAVISSANT AQUARELLES ORIGINALES D'ANDRÉ DES GACHONS (1871-
1951). Between 1913 and 1951, this artist is said to have made nearly 77,000 watercolours of the sky, including 9,500 meteorological watercolours as a volunteer observer for the Central Bureau of Meteorology. A journalist from L'Illustration wrote in 1920: "Mr. André des Gachons, a talented painter, has made it his specialty to translate with real mastery the fleeting lights of the dawn or sunset. During his studies, he noticed certain relationships between time and nuances of sky that
would have escaped a less experienced eye.

This led him to codify his observations in the form of watercolours, which are as easy as they are attractive to "read". »

Under justification, the artist painted a blueberry and wrote this mention: "Illustrated by André des Gachons / June-July / 1916".

A sentimental autograph is included on the dedication poem and next to a watercolour portrait of a woman.

Watercolours of great delicacy.
