Born in Ankadinondry (Madagascar) to Reunionese parents, Philippe TURPIN was originally a self-taught artist. During an engraving internship at the Léon Dierx Museum in 1978, under the direction of Claude GROSCHÊNE, a Parisian printer and soucier, he discovered the etching technique. Then he set up his engraving workshop in 1981 in Cilaos and began to study aquatint before turning to bibliophilia.

LIMITED EDITED edition of 120 numbered copies on Arches vellum. This is a copy of a collaborator enriched with a SIGNED AND DATED SELF SENDING by Philippe Turpin "to my friend and master Claude Groschêne in memory of the first engraving workshop in October 1978 in St Denis de la Réunion".

As new.
