Green percaline editor board. Smooth back with black morocco piece and golden title and finial. Golden date on the heel. Slight wear of the caps and bits. Front cover preserved. Pages in good condition despite the freckles. Portrait of the author in black and white as a frontispiece.
Edition revised and corrected on the original 1783 edition and on the Year IX edition, with the notes of the 1833 edition attributed to Chevalier Pierrugues.
A work as scholarly as it is licentious from the hand of Mirabeau, a great political name of the late eighteenth century.
