Second EDITION IN ORIGINAL PART: the new "Les Tombales" is published here for the first time. One of the 50 numbered copies on Holland paper.
It is Maupassant's most famous collection of short stories. The Maison Tellier was first published in 1881. Maupassant owes the subject to a chance discovery in a red-light district of Rouen. During a walk, he noticed that one of the houses was closed for a few days "because of first communion" The news is dedicated to Tourgueniev.
Very beautiful copy at all margins, carefully made in morocco.
