AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED. André Breton congratulates Jean Rousselot on his study of L. Milosz, poet, novelist and diplomat.
"I had planned to write to you to tell you of the very great interest and pleasure I had taken in your study of L. Milosz. The death machine, which also works on this level, has kept me from doing so. That tells you how happy I am that you have pierced the fog."
Jean Rousselot (1913-2004) was a French poet and writer. During the Second World War, he came into contact with the Resistance and used his position as police commissioner to hide escaped prisoners. In 1946, he resigned from the Sûreté Nationale and decided to live from his pen. He became a tireless defender of poetry, poets and freedom, and one of the greatest critics of his generation. From 1946 to 1973, he published thirty booklets or volumes of poems.
A beautiful autograph letter signed by the founder of the Surrealist movement.
Nice freshness
