Edition presented by Georges Gabory of one of the most important books of the time, which marked the rise of surrealist literature. Frontispiece portrait of Max Jacob engraved after a drawing by Picasso.

Precious copy of the press service, each sheet of which has been mounted on laid paper in-8 format, including the cover. It is illustrated in all the margins and whites of the text of 51 ORIGINAL AQUARELLES painted directly from the book by Giorgio LEONARDI, the first representing the author in front of a dice cone.

BELLOW SENDING SELF-RELATED BY MAX JACOB in pink ink on the spine of the false title: "I fill this cone with a thousand flowers of rhetoric to Mr. Dubuffet with affectionate respect", followed by an autograph from Giorgio Leonardi, "al Signor Dubuffet. "From a bourgeois family in Le Havre, Dubuffet had landed in Paris after his baccalaureate and was quickly introduced to Max Jacob and Roger Vitrac. It was only later that the artist published his theories on raw art. - Giorgio Leonardi is not listed in Benezit.
