Francis Jammes is a French poet, novelist, playwright and critic who has spent most of his life in Béarn and the Basque Country, the main sources of his inspiration.
In the Basque Robinsons, it is both the two characters Etchechoury and Haremboure who are Mr Francis Jammes, and it is in the open ground, where we walk, where the vine grows and where the partridge runs, that he plants the flower of his legend.
