Claude Simon's greatest novel and one of the masterpieces of the nouveau roman, for which he received the Prix de L'Express in 1960, La route des Flandres is a punch on the table, an exercise in style into which one plunges feverishly. Claude Simon went on to become a great writer, and in 1985 was awarded the Nobel Prize, crowning a body of work of which La route des Flandres is the pinnacle.
Superb copy
