THE LATEST BOOK ILLUSTRATED BY RAOUL DUFY. First print of the 24 colour compositions: a frontispiece and 23 vignettes in the text, engraved on wood by Jacques Beltrand after Dufy's watercolours.
A CHRONICLE OF THE WAR YEARS. After having been a war correspondent at the beginning of the Second World War, Dorgelès had withdrawn to Marseille and then settled in the village of Monsaunès in Haute-Garonne, where Dufy
had come to join him
.
With Forced Vacations, he tells the story of this period of his life, from June 1940 to the autumn of 1944, when his friendly companionship with Dufy played an important role: the illustrations in the book were based on the watercolours that Dufy painted alongside him.

BEAUTIFUL COPY IN AN ELEGANT MOSAIC BINDING OF CRETTED GEORGES.
