ORIGINAL EDITION LIMITED TO 250 NUMBERED COPIES ON DUTCH PAPER. This one of the 50 head copies justified and signed by the publisher containing the original lithographs printed by the artist and colored by hand (the other 200 copies are reproduced in offset).
This booklet is a collection of 2 chapters, the first published in August 1913 and the second in January 1921, of the Cahiers d'Aujourd'hui. Valéry Larbaud had an important collection of lead soldiers. His writing draws a parallel between collectors and lovers of lead soldiers and collectors and lovers of literature.
