Notre-Dame des Fleurs is Jean Genet's first novel, written in the Fresnes prison in 1942 and first published in December 1943.

Abstract: "In his novel Genet chooses to write his fantasies from his prison cell. He imagines characters, makes them play, love and hate each other while slipping inside each of them. He then tells the story of Divine, formerly Louis Culafroy. The reader follows his path throughout the novel, which is built on the roundabout model of a saint's life. The reader then follows his life, his work as a prostitute, his community of transvestites, his love affairs and his meeting with a young murderer, Notre Dame, who will give her name to the novel".

In very good condition.
