" Under the general title of "Signe ascendant", various poems were grouped together shortly after André Breton's death, the unity of which appears on reading the first text: a true manifesto in favour of analogical thought, it is he who gives the title to the whole collection. Because logical thinking is antipoetic, i.e. incapable of producing images and of providing any pleasure, both intellectually and emotionally, it is necessary to return to the thread of analogical thinking. It is the only way to bring together realities that logic considers to be irreconcilable. It is only by returning to this thought that we have lost, that surrealist poetry, through metaphor and comparison, can take place. The following pages of the collection constitute precisely this place where the visionary poet, resolutely placed under the "ascending sign" of analogy, undoes the bonds that logic has woven. If he gives us a decomposed image of reality, it is because it is always recomposed through the archaic prism of analogy".

In very good condition.
