Period full red morocco binding. Nervous spine decorated with small golden irons. Dishes richly decorated with golden arabesques. Double thread on the cuts. Inner lace. All edges gilt. Binding signed DURU 1853. Illustrated with a fake title engraved on copper by Nicolas Ponce after Charles Eisen, an out-of-text engraving on the frontispiece by M. Fessard not mentioned by Cohen, an out-of-text engraving on the frontispiece by De Longueil after Charles Eisen, one engraved by Eisen and the other by Fessard and 45 engravings in the text: a title sticker, 22 headers and 22 lamp ends, all by Eisen (except two lamp ends designed by Marillier) and engraved by Aliamet, Baquoy, Binet, Delaunay, Lingée, De Longueil, Masquelier, Massard, Née and Ponce.
FIRST DRAWING recognizable by the red and black titles and numbering errors known on the first pages of the Month of May.
