Set of three volumes with a brown solid-basebook binding. Ornamented bands, framed fillets and gilt fleurons. Brown morocco pieces on spines with gilt title and tomaison. Multiple rubbing on the binding. Handwriting on the title pages. Brown papers. Black and white frontispiece. Contents decorated with black and white plates folding out of text. Books accompanied by their cloth bookmarks.

His work is now so famous that it could not be dissociated from Europe's literary heritage. This man whose writings are here divided into three volumes is of course Homer, the famous Greek author of antiquity whose Iliad and Odyssey are no longer to be presented as they have become so mythical over the ages.
