ORIGINAL EDITION of this collection of which some poems were composed by Verlaine during his detention in Mons, after he had been arrested for shooting Rimbaud. It was during this imprisonment that he returned to the Catholic faith. The edition was probably 500 copies on vellum paper.

The poet spent nearly 600 francs for this publication, which met with no success.
