This first illustrated edition of Edmond Rostand's masterpiece was originally decorated with woodcuts by François Thevenot, Bernard, Flameng, Laurens, Léandre and Moreau. The book was a complete success, but Carteret regretted its lack of unity: Carteret illustrated IV p. 349 (only mentions 5 reimposed in-4 on Chinese paper).

Superb binding lined with Marius Michel.
