This book is intended to be a reference - in its own time - for all matters relating to law and the prison environment. Penitentiaries and their inmates of all kinds and backgrounds had rights, which this book reminded us of. And the least we can say is that there was a lot to learn about the subject at the beginning of the 20th century.
