Set of three volumes with blue half-grain leather binding. Spines altered with four nerves, with gilt fleurons and titles. Slight rubbing on the spines. Covers preserved. Handwritten bookplate on each front cover. Ex-libris in the form of a label on the white endpaper of each volume. Pages not soiled. Some foxing on the pages. Black and white frontispieces under serpents. Good condition of the whole collection.
Volume I : Small perforation extending from the back cover to the last page.
Volume III : Contents decorated with a folding black and white facsimile of autographs.

Three-volume bound series of the memoirs of a man who followed the Napoleonic dream: Baron Marcellin Marbot (1782-1854). His account follows the history of the Empire, and many of the battles in which he participated proved crucial. Present in the glorious times as well as in the fall in 1814, which allowed him to leave us precious testimonies.
