Binding of the period half sorrow green fir tree. Spine with 4 ribs with threaded plates, cold and gold threads. Slightly shaded spines. Very clean interior.
Fourth edition reviewed and commented by the author of an unpublished Life of Catherine II, continued until the death of Paul I, and published with notes by Malte-Brun and Depping. The first edition was published in 1782 by De Bure. The atlas contains 61 engraved portraits of tsars. We are missing the large folding map engraved by Tardieu.
