ORIGINAL EDITION Binding of the full brown basane period. Spine with nerves decorated with golden boxes, past. Corners and dishes slightly rubbed. Bit weakened. Inside with some freckles. Illustrated with blindfolds, lamp cap and letters. Without the folding cards. Damaged cap and upper fields of volume 2. Three marbled slices.
In 1731, the History of Charles XII already revealed the seduction exercised by the Emperor of Russia over Voltaire. As is often the case for the writing of his historical works, Voltaire used printed and manuscript documents to write the book. All the necessary materials were sent to him by the Russian Academy of Sciences.
