Half-marbled green spine binding with long grain and corners. Nervous spine. Top edge gilt. Blue cover kept. Clean interior. Freckles mainly on the beards and some paper restorations.

ORIGINAL EDITION illustrated with 20 plates out of text.

A unique copy enriched with interleaved engraved portraits and a 54-page manuscript, bearing the same title as the book, telling the same story in a very different way.

At the age of 19, Marie-Thérèse Figueur,  known as Mrs. Sans-Gêne, joined the Allobroges legion as a canteen girl, from where she successively joined the 15th and 9th Dragon Regiments. She uses this weapon to do all the campaigns of the Republic and the Empire.
