Posthumous ORIGINAL EDITION of Baron Desgenettes (1763-1837), based on the papers found in the estate of Dr. Malgaigne. René-Nicolas Desgenettes was appointed by Bonaparte as Chief Medical Officer of the Oriental Army. He probably planned to format these scattered notes but did not have time to publish them.
Exceptional copy printed on Japan, enriched with 3 ORIGINAL AQUARLS: portraits of Bonaparte, Kléber and Desgenettes. It also contains 3 additional manuscripts that have been deleted from the original: "Bonaparte's Conversation on General Dumas, Man of Colors". A pencil note states: "This account was deleted because of Mr. Calmann-Lévy's special relationship with Mr. A. Dumas Jr.
Good condition.
