Histoire de la Guerre d'Espagne et de Portugal, pendant les années 1807 à 1813 - Tomes I et II.
Plus the Campaign of 1914 in the South of France, by Colonel Sir John Jones, with Notes and Comments
Alphonse de BEAUCHAMP
Paris. - Germain Mathiot. - 1819.
- Format : In-12.
- Number of volumes : 2 tomes.
- Binding : Bound.
- Collation : Tome I : XX-330 pp.; Tome II : 386 pp.
Set of two volumes with brown half-basin bindings. Smooth spines with gilt titles, tomasons, fleurons and friezes. All edges speckled. Minor foxing and spotting on the contents. Green cloth bookmarks.
Volume I : Joints cracked.
Volume II : Damage on the spine. Black and white folding map as a frontispiece.
These two volumes would allow us to discover the course of events during the Napoleonic campaign in southern Europe. We say "would" because their author - a convinced monarchist - would have been likely to take a somewhat biased view. Nevertheless, you can trust the map describing the region that was the theatre of operations.
Good condition of the contents.
