Period binding full hard parchment. Smooth spine decorated with golden florets with red morocco title piece and black morocco publisher piece. Large frieze of gilded frame and dedication in gilded letters on the boards. Guilloché cuts. All edges gilt.
FIRST AND ONLY EDITION OF THIS VERY COMMON OPUSCULLE (only the BNF has a copy) dedicated to Napoleon (dedication p. 3 to 13 in italics). From p. 39: "Judgment and other authentic documents on charges made against the Citizen Fiando, former divisional payer on the occasion that he was taken prisoner of war at the castle of Brescia on 2 Floréal year 7[1799]". These documents are in Italian with their translation into French.
Copy of a dedication to "Madame Joséphine Bonaparte, wife of the First Consul" (in golden letters on the first dish).
