Set of two volumes with full contemporary tan granulated basane binding. Spines smooth, with tomaisons, author's mentions and titles gilt on two pieces of black and blond morocco. Spines slightly rubbed. All edges speckled. Ex-libris in the form of a label, handwriting and stamp on the white endpaper. Scattered foxing on the pages.
These two volumes evoke a famous religious controversy reminding us of the tension that has long existed between Catholic and Protestant Christians in the Bearn region.
