Bound in full red cloth. Spine unsealed and muted. Bevelled boards. First plate decorated with black frieze and black and gold floral motifs. Second plate decorated with a black fleuron. Ornaments faded. Soiling on the boards. All edges gilt. Contents decorated with black and white bands, lettering and endpapers, black and white illustrations in-text, as well as ten black and white plates out-of-text: nine etchings by different artists as well as a heliogravure after Alexandre Falguière.
The South-West attracted several great names in the arts during the 19th century: Léon Bonnat, Goya, Ingres, etc. This book brings them together, giving you the opportunity to admire several graphic creations that are a tribute to their host country.
