Bound in black half-chagrin. Smooth spine with gilt title, author's name and romantic decoration. Gilt date on heel. Superb binding. Very well preserved grey-blue cover. Handwritten bookplate on the first cover. Unstained pages. Paper browned but in good condition. Green cloth bookmark. A very good copy.
Extremely rare second edition.
LIMITED EDITION. One of the numbered copies, with handwritten justification by the author: "This work has been printed in XXV copies, n°12".
A very fine and finely decorated copy dealing with a historical episode that took place in the 18th century: the visit of Marie-Anne de Neubourg, former queen-consort of Spain, Naples and Sicily. Having been removed from power following the death of her husband, King Charles II of Spain, in 1700, the city of Bayonne was one of the stops on her long exile.
Very good condition.
