FIRST EDITION. Much sought after.
Richard was the pseudonym of J. M. V. Audin. The text Allons aux Pyrénées, extracted from Nouvelles Annales des voyages, signed A. E. EGRON] (at Gide, rue St-Marc-Feydeau, n. 21), will be reproduced in all the editions of this guide until 1856. All the copies of this
edition, strictly identical to the one described above as far as the text is concerned, do not contain the same number of plates: the Plan de Bordeaux and the Château de Pau, are rarely present together and the frontispiece represents either a Peasant woman of the surroundings of Llivia, or a Peasant woman of the surroundings of Barèges. This guide had many editions, under three different titles.
In good condition.
