After having written En Suisse le sac au dos, the author did it again in 1878 with this book. This guidebook describes the Pyrenees from the Basque Country to the Mediterranean (the Basque Country occupies the first 3 chapters). The journey is written in a fictionalized form, containing many legends of the region.
