Set of five volumes with brown marbled half-basane binding. Smooth spines with fillets, friezes, golden fleurons. Two pieces of morocco on the spines: the first one red with the gilt title. The second black with the golden tomaison. Scattered rubbing according to the copies, mainly on the bits and caps. Yellowed papers with possible traces of dirt, folds and halos. Contents adorned with black and white bands, lettering and culs-de-lampe in black and white.
A series of five volumes with the sole aim of explaining the limits of Gallicanism, a religious current within the Catholic Church that advocates autonomy from the figure of the Pope. Given the size of this venerable collection dating from the 18th century, the reader is right in believing that each point of the presentation will be approached with great precision.
