Full calf binding marbled with brown. Smooth spine with fillets, title, fleurons and gilt friezes. Headings, cardboard fields and damaged corners. Small galleries starting from the second cover to go deeper into the contents. All red slices. Handwritten ex-libris on the colour guards. Burnished paper but well preserved considering its age.
What we have here is a survivor. Not only has this venerable book come down to us well preserved, but it also bears witness to a time when what we call the modern French state was in full swing. Immediately after the Revolution, the young Republic had to equip itself with a strong law, a law of which you have a copy on paper.
