Multiple rubbings on the binding, even missing parts depending on the copies. All edges are marbled, and the contents are in good condition with black and white bands, lettering, and black-and-white lamp-butts.

Original title: Letters from Two Amans, Inhabitants of a small town at the foot of the Alps.

Many times reissued, here is La Nouvelle Heloyse by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, one of the greatest literary successes of his century. This fairly well-preserved three-volume series is a perfect summary of Rousseau's philosophy, in the form of a fictitious epistolary relationship.

In good condition.
