Second Elzévirian edition, very well executed in small print and decorated with a portrait of the author engraved by Jan van Meurs.
A key source for the history of the reign of Henry IV and the regency of Marie de Medicis, this work by Pierre Jeannin (1540-1622) was for a long time one of the most important classics of our diplomacy. It contains correspondence relating to the embassy, letters, speeches, the preface to a Life of Henry IV that he never published and an Apologetic Speech, where he explains his action during the League, including as a minister.
Very good condition.
