Spine restored: jaws consolidated, fillings to headpieces and corners. Extremely fresh interior, with only the rarest of damp spots.
A fine copy.
Complete ORIGINAL EDITION of the 36 folding maps drawn in 1762 by Rigobert BONNE (1727-1794), Jean JANVIER and Giovanni Antonio RIZZI-ZANNONI (1736-1814), only 4 of which remain unsigned (no cartouche).
According to the table, map 25 does not exist, and the first plate, depicting a declination of spheres, bears the number c.
The accuracy of the cartographic work is to be appreciated, as are the approximations concerning certain parts of the globe not yet perfectly known to explorers, such as the interior of the African continent.
Further editions were produced from 1771 onwards, adding new maps to the 36 already in existence.
Nice copy
